A clear red, ruby with purple rim. Wine very complex and mineral. The nose is intense, fine, with fruity scents of ripe blackberry and red currant, ripe prickly pear, quince and slightly spicy. In the mouth and ‘dry, mineral, just fresh but fruity, full with a bitter aftertaste and a tannic vein.
Grapes: Nerello Mascalese 85%, 15% Nerello Cappuccio
Vinification: compound of 3 harvests: the first acid, the second to maturity, and the third over-ripe. The hardnesses of the macerations are the following: 1 – 2 days, 2- 8 days, 3- 12 days. 6 months in chestnut barrels, then steel.
